Without a doubt one of the reasons we brew O'Henry's coffee is because it tastes so good. But it is the comfort of the shop that first brought us in. My daughter became critically ill in 2005 and a local sent us to the Homewood shop for breakfast one a.m. The break from the hospital was so pleasant we went back several times. Now whenever she has an early a.m. visit to the UAB med center, O'Henry's is both comfort and reward that makes the visits bearable. Even though she is wheelchair bound and space is cramped in the store, she has always been made welcome by the staff and patrons and room is always made for her. An unpleasant trip is always improved and worries soothed with a cup of coffee and the welcome of the staff. So we take coffee beans home and continue the sense of comfort. Nothing says Christmas to me like your Christmas Blend. My official Christmas holiday begins the day after Thanksgiving when I first begin to listen to Christmas music and drink my first cup of Christmas Blend. That's been my tradition for about 5 years. Because it is arguably the BEST coffee in the world - O'Henry's has made me miss Birmingham even more and makes me stop by any time I drive through town.
