Karim Shamsi-Basha is at our OHenry’s Coffee Homewood location on such regular basis, we designated his favorite table as is office and posted a sign with his name on it. He is as much of a part of our history as our coffee.
For the past 20 years I have come into OHenry’s Coffee on a daily basis to write, that is what I do. I’m a writer/photographer. My novel, Cactus Pear, now with an agent, was written mostly at OHenry’s. There is something about the energy of the place, the regulars, the staff, the coffee, and everything about it is inducing to some great writing.
All those years I would ask the owner, Randy Adamy, when he was going to put my name above that cool table I frequent. Then, one day about three months ago, I walked in and there was my name on the wall! Now all I need is a secretary to sit at the table next to it to keep people from using my office when I’m not there. Something tells me that will never happen!
All kidding aside, OHenry’s Coffee is my home.
Love and peace,
Karim
